Events and Excursions
Sunday Evening Icebreaker
Join us when you arrive Sunday evening for drinks and heavy appetizers. Network with colleagues, new and old, from 5:30-7:30pm in the Ballroom prefunction space.
Wednesday Evening Conference Dinner - Maine Lobster Bake and Portland Harbor Boat Tour:
The Conference Dinner will occur Wednesday night and involve Lobstering on a nearby island in Casco Bay. Additional menu options will be available and guests are very welcome. Be sure to purchase your ticket ($65) when you register for the conference – plan to enjoy this unforgettable evening in beautiful Maine.

- Stick around downtown Portland, Maine and visit a variety of historic shops and museums. This is a self-guided option for those who want some free time to explore.

- Southern Maine Coastal Quaternary Geology Field Trip
- A walking/driving regional Geology tour will be led by Mike Retelle, a Quaternary geologist from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. The group will visit a variety of glaciomarine features on the beautiful Maine coastline. There will be lots of opportunities for shell collecting, too. Box lunches will be provided.

Tuesday Afternoon Excursions:
Note: All excursions will return to the Westin Portland Harborview Hotel in time to take part in the Poster Reception at 6:00. Estimated departure time is 1:00pm and planned return is 4:30-5:00 depending on the excursion. Be sure to register for these excursions when you register for the conference; some do have an additional fee.
Thursday Closing Awards Luncheon:
The Closing Awards Luncheon will take place Thursday at the Westin and will recognize those selected for best poster and oral presentations. Future ISC planning will also be discussed. The luncheon is included with those attending the full conference and guests are welcome to purchase a ticket for $25 when they register if they’d like to attend.
